Dr Jan Jaskowiec specializes in numerical modeling of solid mechanics problems and development of computational methods. In his scientific works, he uses many computational methods to analyze advanced problems in mechanics. These were, for example, the finite element method, the element-free Galerkin method, meshless finite difference method, extended finite element method, and discontinuous Galerkin method. In his research during the Fulbright fellowship at UC Davis, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering I is focused on the further development of computational methods.
