Andrea Matallana is Sociologist and Master in Social Research (University of Buenos Aires) and PhD in History (UTDT). She is a professor of the Historical and Social Studies Department of the University Torcuato Di Tella and the Ricardo Rojas Cultural Centre (UBA). Her fields of research are social history of Argentina in the late nineteenth and twentieth century and cultural industries; comparative history: United States and Argentina in the beginning of 20th Century. She has been a fellow of the National Endowment for the Arts (1997), Fulbright Commission at MIAS (2012) and Terra Foundation for American Arts (2017). She has published “Locos por la Radio” (2006) "Delicias y Sabores. Desde Doña Petrona hasta nuestros días” (2014); “El Tango entre dos Americas. Representaciones en Estados Unidos durante las primeras décadas del siglo XX” (Georgia State University, 2013/ Eudeba 2016)," among other publications. Her present research project is “Cultural Boundaries: Latin America and USA during the Good Neighbor Policy Times”, and she is analyzing in particular the role of Lincoln Kirstein and his South American travels 1941-1942.
