Mr. Alshamsi holds a Bachelor of Science in Plant Sciences and a Master of Science in Crop Protection. He has 15 years of experience in the Plant Quarantine Department in the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries in Oman, where he is responsible for making plant quarantine, fertilizer and soil conditioner laws and bylaws. Additionally, he is involved in the revision of seed and nursery laws. Mr. Alshamsi also attends workshops to review draft international standards for phytosanitary measures at the regional office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Cairo.
